In addition to being a great place to procrastinate your to-do list, Pinterest is a social media platform that is not only filled with distraction, but is a perfect place (for some businesses) to post the content from their blogs. To get the most from Twitter -- and it is a social media platform that is suited for any industry that can uncover graphics to help enhance its message -- from accountants to dog groomers to insurance agents and every industry in between.
To truly harness the power of Pinterest you need to use graphics that lend themselves to a Pinterest Board -- remember Pinterest is all about the visuals. You will originally put a visual in the content you’ve created on your blog then “pin” the image from the blog, along with a link back onto your Pinterest Board.
Here are three tips to make the most of Pinterest:
- Include a graphic from your blog post, and link back to your website. Great way to build cross traffic.
- Follow, comment and repin other's pins. Remember, Pinterest at its most basic is a social media site -- be social.
- Make certain your boards are named in a way to help build your SEO. Check your profile and tagline and make sure you're using SEO. For example, if you want to be known as a pet blogger and be found as an entrepreneur your profile should proclaim that.
